Ranger
Battalions Association of WWII Scholarships
General:
The Ranger Battalions Association of
WWII (RBA) is seeking qualified candidates who are descendants
(direct or adopted) of WWII Rangers to compete for one of the
$1000.00 awards to be applied towards the chosen applicants’
educational needs. The award money for the successful applicants
will be sent directly to the applicant’s educational institution for
administration.
The RBA program has joined with that of
the National Ranger Memorial Foundation (NRMF) as part of the
continuing mission to support the Ranger community, past, present,
and future. Endowment fund(s) have been created to fund the yearly
awards to qualified applicants. The funds will be transferred to the
NRMF for support of the RBA program.
While there are strict criteria as to
who may apply, the scholarships will be awarded to qualified
applicants without any preference to race, creed, color, ethnic
origin, or religion.
Awards will be made to promising high
school seniors (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) who have been accepted by a
state accredited two- or four-year educational or technical
institution. Students already enrolled in an accredited institution
who have demonstrated academic ability (3.0 GPA) can also compete
for the award. Financial necessity is not a factor in awarding the
scholarships.
To apply, you will need to go to
www.RangerMemorial.org
and go to "Services" in the left hand menu.
Ranking will be based on all of the
above (Note that the program and requirements of the RBA program
are very
slightly at variance with those of
the NRMF.)
Applications must be postmarked and
received by 15 Jun for consideration for the fall quarter or
semester and by 01
January for the spring. Applicants will
be notified within six weeks.
The RBA Scholarship Committee will make appropriate recommendations
to that of the NRMF for funding.
